Sandy’s Momo Chutney

Ingredients:

150g tomatoes, cooked in water for 8-9 minutes

3 to 4 dry red chilies, soaked in water for 30 minutes

1 tbsp garlic, chopped

1 tbsp dried timur berries (or sichuan GREEN peppercorns)

¼ teaspoon black peppercorns

¼ to ½ teaspoon sugar or add as required

1 tbsp sesame seeds/ tahini (optional)

Salt as required

Equipment:

– Blender (Jar blender or hand blender, alternatively any food processor)
– Boiling pan

Methods:

  1. Blanch the tomatoes in a pan of boiling water for 8-9 minutes until softened.
  2. Add the tomatoes into the blender, along with the rehydrated chillies, garlic, timur berries, black peppercorn, sesame seeds (optional) and sugar.
  3. Blend to a smooth paste. Season with salt to taste.
